Civic Sunday on 12 July 2026

On a beautiful Sunday morning, the annual Stone Civic Parade, led by the Stone Scout and Guide Band, processed down the High Street,  from the Council Office in Station Road to St Michael & St Wulfad’s Church where Reverend Paul Kingman and Reverend Robert Icke greeted guests. 

The Mayor Making Ceremony took place during the service and the new Stone Town Mayor, Councillor Andrew Best, was presented with his Chain of Office for the civic year 2026-27.

Classic Car Event on 11 July 2026

Stone Town Council played host to a collection of classic cars on Saturday 11th July 2026. The free display took place in the High Street and Market Square between 11:00am and 3:00pm. 

The Council worked with the Stone Carnival Committee to organise a collection of classic cars, most of which were local to Stone. This year the Market Square featured a display of cars from the 1950’s and 1960’s.

The event was very well attended with both visitors and car owners thoroughly enjoying the day!

St. George’s Day event on 25 April 2026

Stone Town Council celebrated Saint George’s Day with an exciting, free-to-attend event for the whole family by bringing medieval knights into the town.

The event will started with a parade down the High Street to Market Square led by Saint George.

After the parade, the Black Knight clashed with Saint George and his men in a thrilling battle before the crowd in the Market Square!

Texas Flag Raising on 7 March 2026

Town Councillor, Councillor Jim Davies, led a short ceremony at the top of the High Street in Stone on Saturday 7 March 2026 to commemorate the anniversary of Texas gaining its independence from Mexico on 2 March 1836.

The Town Mayor, Councillor Jason Metters, was in attendance along with members of the Florence Brass Band.
