Texas Flag Raising on Saturday 7 March 2026

State of Texas Flag

Town Councillor, Councillor Jim Davies, will be leading a short ceremony at the top of the High Street in Stone on Saturday 7 March 2026 at noon, to commemorate the anniversary of Texas gaining its independence from Mexico on 2 March 1836. The focus of the occasion will be the raising of the Flag of the State of Texas.

The Town Mayor, Councillor Jason Metters, will also be in attendance along with Florence Brass Band and representatives of other local groups. Stone Choral Society, Stone Detachment (Mercian Regiment) Army Cadets and 2352 (Stone) Squadron ATC have been invited to attend. 

Councillor Metters and Councillor Davies would be very pleased if you were able to join them at the flagpole for this occasion.
