THE WHALE AT WESTBRIDGE
Stone Town Council is excited to announce the upcoming arrival of a huge, inflatable whale to the ‘shores’ of the River Trent and the Trent and Mersey Canal on Tuesday 12th August 2025!! The 18 metre long sperm whale will be ‘beached’ in Westbridge Park for the day, during which there will be performances inside its belly!
This free, family event is aimed at children aged 3-10 years, however children must be accompanied by an adult. Booking is not required but we do anticipate this to be a popular event.
Inside, you’ll be welcomed by a lively Navigator character who will lead you into a captivating, funny, and interactive show.
There will be six performances during the course of the day:
11.30 am
12.00 noon
1.30 pm
2.00 pm
3.30 pm
4.00 pm
Councillor Jill Hood, Chairman of the Council’s Tourism and Town Promotion Sub-Committee said “The Council is very aware that keeping the kids entertained during the summer holidays can be a challenge and it is often very difficult to find interesting, free activities so I am very pleased that we are able to offer this new event to Stone families.”
“Bring the family down and discover what it is like to be inside a whale’s belly!”
