Vacancy for Events and Marketing Officer
Stone Town Council
Events and Marketing Officer
Part-Time, 23 Hours per Week
£27,334-£28,446 per annum pro-rata (£16,991-£17,683 approx.)
Stone Town Council is a busy local council supporting the town of Stone, Staffordshire. In addition to operating two community centres, various town markets and an eagerly awaited new heritage centre, the Council organises a diverse range of events within the town and a number of civic activities. This year’s town events, for example, have included a St George’s day re-enactment, “Stone by the Sea”, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, and the extremely popular Christmas light switch-on evening.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our small, dedicated team primarily to provide support in both marketing Council events and facilities and in organising town and civic activities. The successful candidate is likely to have had experience of producing marketing materials (including on-line marketing), organising events, and dealing with members of the public.
The post is part-time, 23 hours per week. We would anticipate 20 of these hours being worked in the office spread throughout the week, with the remaining 3 hours accumulated to provide for attendance at out-of-hours events. The Council would be willing to discuss working patterns in order to meet both the Council’s needs and those of the person appointed, but a flexible overall approach will be needed, particularly in order to attend events which may take place in the evening or at weekends.
Please ring the Town Clerk, Les Trigg, on 01785 619740 if you have any questions about the role.
